What You’ll Do
The Manager Business Applications is responsible for leading a team to ensure the high-quality delivery of business requirements, system enhancements, and ongoing application support.  This role also serves as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor for the Commercial and Marketing organization aligning IT capabilities with revenue growth and business objectives.  As the primary liaison between business leaders and IT, this role is responsible for translating commercial strategy into a scalable technology roadmap, delivering digital solutions, and managing effective project execution.  The leader drives optimization of commercial platforms and leads digital transformation initiatives including data and AI enablement, while ensuring strong governance and compliance to deliver measurable business value.
  • Serves as the primary IT strategic partner for the Commercial and Marketing groups, developing strong relationships with senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Translate business strategy into a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with enterprise architecture and company priorities.
  • Lead demand management, portfolio prioritization, and intake processes for commercial IT initiatives.
  • Partner with executive stakeholders to identify technology-enabled opportunities that drive revenue growth and operational efficiency.
  • Develop business cases, ROI analyses, and funding justifications for commercial technology investments.
  • Oversee systems lifecycle management and optimization of commercial systems, including CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and sales enablement platforms.
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to identify and execute digital transformation initiatives, including automation, advanced analytics, and AI-driven capabilities to enhance commercial effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with data and analytics teams to enhance reporting, forecasting, and decision-support.
  • Partner with PMO and delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs that measure business value and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage external technology vendors including contracts, relationships, and service performance.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between IT, Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Finance, and Compliance teams.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to IT Business Analysts supporting commercial functions.
  • Drive change management and user adoption strategies for new technology implementations.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across commercial technology initiatives.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of related, experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline) preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years in business-facing IT roles such as Business Relationship Management, IT Product Management, or Technology Portfolio Management.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Commercial, Sales, Marketing, or Customer Experience functions.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva, Microsoft Dynamics) and related commercial systems.
  • Experience with marketing automation, sales enablement, CPQ, or commercial analytics platforms preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, reporting, business intelligence, and analytics solutions.
  • Proven experience aligning IT strategy with business objectives and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as Medical Devices, Life Sciences, Pharma, or Healthcare required or strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps and leading cross-functional digital transformation programs.
  • Experience managing IT budgets, developing business cases, and conducting cost/benefit analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and effectively bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Salary Range: $165,000 – 185,000
