What You’ll Do
The Senior R&D Technician is a highly skilled technical role responsible for completing tasks related to product research and development, such as prototyping new products or processes in collaboration with R&D engineers and cross-functional teams involved in transitioning products from ideation to manufacturing. This individual is resourceful, demonstrates a high degree of initiative and independence, and excels at turning abstract concepts into tangible product components through their expertise.
- Actively participate in the design and development of new concepts, building prototypes/catheters and testing new designs, ideas and processes.
- Assist in the development of assembly and test procedures, performing in-vitro/bench tests and documenting results (familiarity with MS office suite preferred).
- Conduct design/process qualification catheter builds, execute testing according to protocol, and document results.
- Familiarity with operating R&D equipment (hot boxes, adhesives, soldering, bonding, fuse joining, microscope/vision systems and extra bonus if experienced with vertical laminator, coiler, braider, Instron)
- Ability to perform testing independently with tensile, balloon testing, fatigue or other tests related to medical device, or any regulated technology
What You’ll Bring
A minimum of 4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Should possess strong math skills
- Familiar operating R&D equipment (hot boxes, adhesives, soldering, bonding, fuse joining).
- Knowledge of materials (Polymers, Metals, Chemicals) as it relates to medical devices.
- Ability to perform testing independently with tensile, balloon testing, fatigue or other tests related to medical device, or any regulated technology.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office products.

Salary Range: $ $86,000 – $112,000 annually
