What You’ll Do
We are seeking an AI Lead to build and drive the adoption of AI within organization. This role will initially be hands-on-designing, building, and piloting AI solutions—while laying the foundation for a scalable AI capability.
Over time, this individual will help define and lead the team, processes, and standards needed to expand AI across R&D, aligning all efforts with the broader strategic vision of the organization.
- Design, build, and deploy initial AI pilot projects
- Prototype quickly Agents using modern AI tools (LLMs, agents, automation frameworks)
- Implement prompt engineering strategies and chain-of-thought reasoning patterns
- Validate value through measurable outcomes and iterate rapidly
- Build and implement AI agents and intelligent workflows for R&D use cases
- Implement sophisticated context management systems to maintain agent state across multi-turn interactions and complex workflows
- Build robust memory systems including short-term working memory and long-term knowledge retrieval
- Create tool integration frameworks allowing agents to interact with external APIs, databases, and services
- Develop agent orchestration systems for multi-agent collaboration and task delegation
- Ensure solutions are designed for scalability from the outset
- Partner with IT and data teams to ensure required data access and infrastructure
- Define requirements for data pipelines, tooling, and governance
- Ensure solutions meet compliance and security expectations
- Work across R&D, IT, Legal, and other teams to enable adoption
- Translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Drive alignment and momentum across functions
- Define roles, skills, and structure for an emerging AI team
- Contribute to hiring and onboarding of future team members
- Establish processes, standards, and ways of working for AI development
- Transition from individual contributor to team lead over time
- Act as a change agent within R&D to drive AI adoption
- Educate teams and integrate AI into day-to-day workflows
- Promote a culture of experimentation and data-driven decision-making
- 4–8 years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or applied AI roles
- Hands-on experience building AI solutions (including generative AI and/or agents)
- Experience delivering pilot projects or proof-of-concepts end-to-end
- Strong understanding of data workflows and AI tooling
- Cloud infrastructure hands on knowledge
- Demonstrated ability or interest in mentoring or leading others
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
- Strong builder mindset with ability to execute independently
- Pragmatic and outcome-focused, with a bias toward action
- Comfortable evolving from hands-on contributor to team leader
- Effective communicator across technical and business audiences

Salary Range: $214,000 - 234,000/annually
